Oil field pressure washing

Hot water and chemical pressure washing for drilling rigs, frac spreads, tanks and lease equipment across the Houston region and southeast Texas.

Oil field cleaning is a different job from truck washing and the difference is the soil. Drilling mud, pipe dope, crude residue and produced-water scale do not come off with detergent and pressure — they need heat, dwell time and chemistry chosen for the specific contaminant. Applying fleet-wash technique to a rig floor produces a wet rig, not a clean one.

It is also the segment where the environmental consequence of careless washing is largest, and where operators are most likely to be audited on it.

Hot water, chemistry and pressure

Hydrocarbon soils release at temperature. Hot water washing is the baseline for anything that has held crude, mud or lubricant, and the temperature does work that raising pressure cannot — pressure alone drives contaminant into surface porosity and erodes coatings. Chemical selection follows the contaminant: caustic degreasers for hydrocarbon, acidic products for scale and rust bloom, and neutral surfactants where a coating or a painted surface has to survive the process.

Aluminum, galvanised and coated surfaces get a chemistry review before the first pass. An acidic product that brightens aluminum will etch galvanised steel, and the crew that does not know the difference finds out on your equipment.

Containment on lease sites

Wash water that has touched hydrocarbon-contaminated equipment is not general runoff. On lease sites the crew works inside existing secondary containment where it exists, and sets its own containment where it does not: inlets and low points sealed, water vacuumed back from up to 200 feet, transferred into the 500-gallon onboard tank and hauled off for disposal. Where a site has its own collection and disposal arrangement, the crew works to the operator's procedure instead — the goal is that the water is accounted for, not that it leaves in a particular truck.
